This is what the locals call the sculpture originally called the Sfera Grande. It’s a real icon for local residents (and a point of reference for most directions!). If you come here, you are bound to hear phrases like “let’s meet by the Palla di Pomodoro” or “turn right at the Palla di Pomodoro”.
Basically, it’s really worth a visit, and is just ten minutes from the hotel.
